March Newsletter 2016

Company News

Last week, we were lucky enough to attend the AIPPI/INTA seminar in Singapore, Designs: Into the Future. It was great to mingle with global peers and learn more about Industrial Designs. It was particularly interesting hearing the differences in law from one country to the next. Thank you to all the presenters and organisers for a fantastic conference.

Our work with IP Australia and OHIM continues at great pace and we were also able to release some exciting enhancements into our online trademark search platform.

We continue to hire in both our Brisbane and Pittsburgh office so please reach out if you are keen to join our expanding team. Do you have any ideas or suggestions for TrademarkVision? Let us know! Send us an email or fill out our online feedback form.

Are these trademarks deceptively similar?

Image Recognition Advancements

This month we released a significant enhancement that combines image and object data for a even more enhanced set of results.

So, how does it work? When you upload an image, TrademarkVision automatically ranks the results based off our complex 'confidence' level of similarity. Image recognition uses many algorithms to compare shape, contour and texture, yet that’s only half the journey. Object detection and recognition brings a whole new world of data.

Clients & Partners

We have some pretty amazing clients, and one we have been lucky enough to work with is Bill Ladas from King & Wood Mallesons. Earlier this week, we were excited to talk to Bill about his experience with TrademarkVision.

"Indexing of logos / non-verbal marks on the register can be highly subjective and this is where TrademarkVision is extremely helpful. The tool is user friendly – you just upload the image straight from your computer and click “search”. I recommend TrademarkVision and I’m looking forward to what TrademarkVision has in store for us in the future." - Bill Ladas, Special Counsel, King & Wood Mallesons.
